1. What happens on the first day of school?

The first day of school will be listed on our website calendar. Prior to the first day of school, your child will receive a final letter of welcome from the school administration which will include specific instructions on school start-up dates and times.

2. If my child does not have his/her uniform by the first day of school will this be a problem?

Yes. We are a school which is committed to its uniform policy and our expectation is that all students are in full and proper uniform on the first day of classes. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to place all uniform orders before the first of June.

3. What are the uniform requirements?

The uniform is to be purchased from our designated supplier. They will be very accommodating in assisting you with your selections. Special care should be taken in choosing school shoes. There is a strictly enforced requirement for all black shoes. This means the soles, the laces and any logos or decals that may appear on the shoe must be black.

4. When should I expect information through the mail regarding registration and school start-up?

Correspondence regarding final registration and school start-up procedures are usually mailed out in mid August of each year.

5. When will I receive school bus information/bus pass?

Yellow bus passes are mailed out by the LBPSB Transportation Department usually the week before school starts

6. How will I know if my child is eligible for the school bus?

The Transportation Department of the School Board will advise you of your child’s eligibility.

7. What can I do if my child is not eligible, but I want him/her on the school bus?

Courtesy bussing is available at a cost. It is entirely dependent upon the availability of seats on existing bus runs. Please contact the school for an application form, and fee information.

8. When will my child get to choose his “elective” courses of Art, Dance, Drama, or Music?

Course Selection sheets will be sent to your child’s elementary school in early spring.

9. How will I know how much the school fees are?

You will receive a statement of account in the registration package that will be mailed out in August.

10. When are fees expected to be paid and how?

Fees are expected to be paid on registration day by cash, certified cheque or Interac only (no personal pheques). However, if you are unable to pay the full amount at registration, payment can be made.

11. What are we to expect on registration day?

What time does school start, and when is lunch? This information will be included in the registration package and consists of several steps. Basically, I.D. pictures are taken, locker are assigned, fees are paid, and an information package consisting of your child’s schedule, agenda, school calendar, parents’ handbook, and other informative documents will be handed out.

12. Can my child come to registration by his/herself?

Yes, however it is advisable that he/she is accompanied by an adult or older sibling.

13. Can my child have a locker by him/herself?

It is very unlikely that this will happen. Please be advised that the grade sevens will have their lockers pre-assigned. The students will be paired with a peer from their previous elementary school. Also, students will be placed with a student of the same gender.

14. What time does school start, and when is lunch?

The first bell goes at 8:50, and students should be in class by 8:55. Junior lunch begins at 11:46 and ends at 12:38.

15. Do I need to call in when my child is going to be absent or late?

Yes, in both cases. However it is still necessary to have an absence note written in the agenda upon your child’s return to school.

16. Will I have to supply a lock for my child?

No, a lock will be provided by the school
