CEGEP Online Applications

All applications must be complete by March 1st. Grade 11 students who wish to speak with Miss Sylvain can do so Monday through Friday during senior lunch or by filling out an appointment slip available in the guidance department.

CEGEP Application Procedure

  1. CEGEP Open Houses/Info Evenings

  2. Program Requirements

    • Make sure that you meet your program prerequisites before applying! You must expect to have the requirements by the end of June (i.e., not over the summer). Otherwise, you will automatically be refused from the program and miss your chance!

  3. CEGEP Application Process

    • You must use the SRAM application system to apply to either John Abbott College or Vanier College as well as Champlain Lennoxville, Heritage, and a number of francophone CEGEPS. The SRAM system is available online at https://admission.sram.qc.ca and began accepting applications as of January 15th, 2019.

The SRAM site allows you to complete a simulation before actually applying. This is a useful exercise prior to filling out an application. Please be sure to complete a real application following the simulation.

You may only apply to one CEGEP and program on the SRAM system in Round 1. If you are turned down for this choice, you will then have a chance to apply for a program which still has space in Round 2. The deadline for the second round is mid-April. If you need to make a Round 2 choice, the exact deadline date will be given to you. Same thing if you need to make a Round 3 choice.

After your application is submitted, the site will indicate whether or not you need to submit any documentation. E.g., a letter of intent. Submit any required documents by uploading them onto the SRAM site.

All required documents including the application fee (30$ payable by credit card online (Master Card or Visa) or by sending in a certified cheque or money order) must arrive by the March 1, 2019 deadline.

*If you were born in Quebec, you DO NOT need to send your birth certificate.
*No one needs to submit grades! Our school board has an agreement with SRAM, therefore, your grades are transmitted for you electronically.

    • Dawson College Application

Dawson College has its own application available through its website and began accepting applications as of Monday January 14th, 2019. On the Dawson application you must indicate a first and second choice program. Your first choice program should have the higher entrance requirements i.e. Health Science as a first choice and Social Science as a second choice—not the other way around! If you are refused from your first choice program, you will then be considered for your second choice. However, there is no guarantee that there will still be space left in the program of your second choice at that point.

The following documents are required and must arrive on time:

      • Photocopy of your birth certificate even if born in Quebec

      • Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status if born outside Canada

      • Application fee of 30$ - you can pay by credit card online (Master Card or Visa) or send in a certified cheque or money order (see Dawson’s website for details). If you wish to pay the fee with a debit card, you may do so in person at the Registrar Counter 2D.6 24 hours after submitting the application.

      • Any additional program specific requirements, e.g. Letter of intent.

  • Champlain College St-Lambert Application

Champlain College has its own application available through its website and began accepting applications as of Monday January 14th, 2019. On the Champlain College application you must indicate a first and second choice program. Your first choice program should have the higher entrance requirements i.e. Health Science as a first choice and Social Science as a second choice—not the other way around! If you are refused from your first choice program, you will then be considered for your second choice. However, just like Dawson, there is no guarantee that there will still be space left in the program of your second choice at that point. Be certain that you meet the entrance requirements of your program choices!

The following documents are required and must arrive on time:

    • Photocopy of your birth certificate even if born in Quebec

    • Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status if born outside Canada

    • Application fee of 30$ - you can pay by credit card online (Master Card or Visa) or send in a certified cheque or money order.

    • Any additional program specific requirements, e.g. Letter of intent.

  • Marianopolis College

You may apply directly to Marianopolis College and indicate a first and second choice program. Go to www.marianopolis.edu to fill out an application form.

    The following documents are required:

    • Photocopy of your birth certificate even if born in Quebec

    • Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status if born outside Canada

    • Application fee of 50$ - you can pay by credit card online (Master Card or Visa) or send in a certified cheque or money order.

Important: Please review specific program application requirements to determine whether you must send a letter of intent, recommendation letters, a portfolio, etc.

  • Other Colleges

You may also wish to apply to other private colleges. Schools which have their own applications include: LaSalle College, O’Sullivan College, etc.

  1. General Information

The application systems are NOT first come first serve: all applications that arrive by the March 1st deadline are considered equal. MAKE SURE you only apply to programs for which you meet the admission requirements. If not, you will be refused.

The deadline to apply is March 1st. Any supporting documents must be submitted by that date. Do not wait until the last minute to apply.

Please note that your permanent code appears on your report card and your Releve d’Apprentissage, which is your grade 10 transcript. You will be asked for this code when applying—it is not your Medicare Card number nor is it your student number.

If you are asked for a letter of intent, I can help edit your draft if you would like. Letters of intent should be uploaded electronically with your online application.

A student who is not offered a CEGEP spot by late May can apply to Continuing Education (evening classes) in CEGEP. If you have all of your graduation requirements, you will be automatically accepted! Please see Ms. Sylvain for more information.

Student for a day!!! It is definitely worth your while to arrange a student-for-a-day activity with a CEGEP to determine whether or not a program is of interest to you. Some CEGEPs have a sign up online. See me for help setting this up if you experience trouble finding the links. You must act fast however since you would need to do this prior to the March 1st application deadline.

Reminder: I am available by email at vsylvain@lbpsb.qc.ca for application related questions. You may also fill in an appointment form to meet with me individually. I am available during senior lunch and also after school every day!
